In Magba, another salutary initiative championed by the grassroots people and supported by PNDP gave the 50,000 people in the municipality and its environs a befitting Central Market.
With the construction of the three blocks of sixteen shops in August 2014, traders and buyers alike can go about their activities in a more secure setting. Vendors’ goods were no longer at the mercy of the rains. The construction of a six public toilets and the provision of garbage disposal bins in the market also improved upon hygienic conditions.
All these changes which cost 59,637,513 FCFA, with 51,171,971 FCFA being PNDP’ support from C2D funding, resulted in an increase in the amount of taxes and rents collected from the Magba Central Market.
